Janet Minges 1917 - 2006 Kansas City, Mo.
A Mass of Resurrection for Janet Minges, 89, Kansas City, Mo., will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Sunday in St. Therese Church, 5814 Euclid, Kansas City, Mo. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum in Raytown, Mo.Mrs. Minges died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.She was born Feb. 7, 1917, in St. Louis, the daughter of Edward and Frances Murray. She moved to Kansas City in 1949.Mrs. Minges was an associate of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth and was active at the House of Menuha.She married Harold Minges in 1941. He died in 1995.A granddaughter, Katie Mika, died in 2001, and a grandson, Robert Minges, died in 1998.Survivors include two sons, Thomas Minges and wife Rebecca, and James Minges and wife Donna; three daughters, Frances Engel and husband Lawrence, and Rita Mika and husband Robert, and Mary Beth; four grandchildren, Susan Vogt, Brian Engel, Christopher Mika and Sara Minges; and five great-grandchildren, Grace, Anna, Andrew, Graham and Quinn.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.The family suggests memorials to House of Menuha, 801 E. 77th, Kansas City, MO 64131 or Hospice House, Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114.
