Eunice "Toots" Tryon 1917 - 2006 Lawrence
Services for Eunice "Toots" Tryon, 89, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Tryon died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born June 10, 1917, in Douglas County, the daughter of Samuel and Bertha Brubaker Perdue. She attended Douglas County schools.Mrs. Tryon was a cook for many years at Woodlawn School in North Lawrence.She married James E. Tryon on May 4, 1936, in Ottawa. He died May 22, 1988.Survivors include daughters, Lois Hart, Lawrence, and Arlene and husband Ardell Kufahl, Wheaton; grandchildren, Susie, Danny, Mike, Sonja, Jimmy, Cindy, Harold, Scott, Kelly, Robin, Krystal and Rocky; great-grandchildren, Summer, Mandy, Jerrad, Ashley, Courtney, Madison, Garrett, Mason, Samuel and Gabriel; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kurtis, Valerie, Andy, Amber, Amy and Audrey; great-great-granddaughter, Emma; and stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Colby, Tommy, Shelby, Avery and Daniel.Three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter, Darla Kufahl, all died earlier.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday before the services at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care in Douglas County or Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
