Richard Duane Pickens 1971 - 2006 Bern
Services for Richard Duane Pickens, 34, Bern, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Cremation is planned.Mr. Pickens died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at his home.He was born Nov. 17, 1971, in Winchester, the son of Daryl Dale Sr. and Deborah Joann Frazier Pickens. He had lived in Bern for two years after moving from Oskaloosa. He also had lived in the Williamstown area.He married Marcia Arlen Elston on May 19, 1990, in Williamstown. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his father, Baldwin; his mother, Deborah Robinson, Lecompton; a son, Andrew Scott Pickens; four daughters, Kimberly Diana Pickens, Amber Lynn Pickens, Tommi Renee Pickens and Elizabeth Arlene Pickens; two brothers, including his twin, Michael James Pickens, Butler, Mo., and Daryl Pickens, Baldwin.Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the Pickens Children's Education Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
