Patricia Radford

Services for Patricia Radford, 71, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the I-70 Business Center Lawrence Bridge Club. Private inurnment services will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.Ms. Radford died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1935, in Mill Shoals, Ill., the daughter of James V. and Alberta Files. She grew up in Fairfield, Ill., and moved to Carbondale, Ill., where she graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in advertising. She also lived in Champaign, Ill., before she moved to Lawrence, where she lived for the rest of her life.Ms. Radford was a bridge teacher, homemaker, tax preparer and also sold insurance. She was an avid bridge player and horse-racing handicapper. She was a Silver Life Master bridge player.She married Zamir Bavel. She married Ronald Radford in 1988.Survivors include two brothers, James and Terry Files; two sons, Ari and Gil Bavel; a daughter, Elana Goldberg; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah Goldberg.The family suggests memorials to the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and the Lawrence Bridge Club, sent in care of the Cremation Society of Kansas and Missouri, 8837 Roe Ave., Prairie Village 66207.Online condolences may be sent at www.kccremation.com.
