George C. Goins 1924 - 2006 Lawrence
Private family inurnment will be later for George C. Goins, 82, Lawrence.Mr. Goins died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Topeka.He was born June 14, 1924, in Garnett, the son of George and Sadie Barber Goins.Mr. Goins served in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart. He was a farmer and managed Rural Water District No. 1.He married Ruth Irene Harris on Nov. 8, 1947. She survives of the home.Other survivors include a son, Calvin E. Goins, Lawrence; a daughter, Ruth Arleen Jones, Tesca; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
