Vivian Kennedy Sullivan Huckaby

Mass of Christian Burial for Vivian Kennedy Sullivan Huckaby will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Wea. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.Mrs. Huckaby died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at Aberdeen Village in Olathe.She was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Emmett, the daughter of Martin J. and Georgia Immenschuh Kennedy. She attended schools in Emmett and St. Mary’s and received a teaching degree from Avila College in 1968.Mrs. Huckaby worked for the Blue Valley School District for more than 30 years as clerk of the school board and Blue Valley High School librarian until she retired. She attended Holy Rosary Church in Wea. She was very active in the schools and community. She enjoyed watching any sport and was an avid fan of the Kansas Jayhawks.She married Michael B. Sullivan on Aug. 2, 1952. He died July 10, 1962. She married MC “Huck” Huckaby on July 5, 1985. Huck died Aug. 25, 1996.Her parents died earlier; three brothers, Martin J. “Bud,” Willard F. “Dick,” and Robert “Bob,” died earlier; and her twin sister, Vivina Rowland, died earlier. Survivors include two sons, Mike Sullivan and wife Julie, Overland Park, and Kelly Sullivan and wife Cristy, Lawrence; two daughters, Colleen Sullivan-McNeive and husband Dan, Gardner, and Kimberly Tonnies and husband Russ, Brentwood, Tenn.; three brothers-in-law, George Sullivan, Rossville, Charles Sullivan and Earl Smith; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Kennedy, Silver Lake, Hazel Kennedy, Garnett, and Jean Horner; seven grandchildren, Joe, Lisa, Erin, Kate, Brian, Christine and Kennedy.The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in Olathe, where a rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Assn. or Catholic Charities, sent in care of the funeral home, 105 E.
