Eleanor Frowe Moore 1914 - 2006 Tallahasse
Services for Eleanor Frowe Moore, 92, Tallahasse, will be at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee at a later date.Mrs. Moore died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, in Fayetteville, Ga., after a long illness. She was born Jan. 6, 1914, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of William George and Mildred Elmira Junkins Frowe. She graduated from Kansas University in 1935. She received master's degrees from Florida State University and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.Mrs. Moore taught elementary school in Kansas, Missouri and Florida. She worked as a medical social worker for the State of Florida for 24 years in Children's Medical Services and the Medicaid Program. She was active for many years in the Sierra Club, League of Women Voters, Pilot Club, Delta Zeta Sorority and Unitarian-Universalist Church of Tallahassee. She volunteered at the Florida Museum of History.She is survived by two daughters, Shelley Moore Peters, Prairie Village, and Sarah Moore Ingram, Newnan, Ga.; two sons, Ralph, Vashon, Wash., and Wesley, Seattle; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Florida Sierra Club or the church, sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, 182 Millard Farmer Industrial Blvd., Newnan, GA 30263.
