Jack A. Rogers 1924 - 2006 Stilwell

Graveside services for Jack A. Rogers, 82, Stilwell, were Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at Ewing Chapel Cemetery in Stilwell.Mr. Rogers died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, in Stilwell.He was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Stockton, Kan., the son of John A. and Cecilia Kriley Rogers. He lived in Lawrence, Kan., for most of his life and moved to Stilwell a year ago.Mr. Rogers worked as a cement finisher and retired from Penny Ready Mix in Lawrence. He was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 309 in Lawrence.He married Elemerine O'Brien. She died earlier.Survivors include three sons, Tom, Stilwell, and Roy and Mark, both of Turlock, Calif.; five daughters, Doris Nicholson, Modesto, Calif., Sue Capps, Oakdale, Calif., Judith Allinson, Stilwell, Barbara Alanis, Riverbank, Calif., and Nancy Brummer, Stockton, Kan.; a stepson, George O'Brien, Lawrence; two stepdaughters, Clara Ann Holladay, Lawrence, and Mary Higginbotham, Osawatomie, Kan.; a brother, Robert, Plainville, Kan.; four sisters, Vy Burton, Mary Dinkle, Ellen Most and Bernice Thyfault, all of Plainville; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
