John Douglas "Doug" Williams 1936 - 2006 Olathe
Services for John Douglas "Doug" Williams, 70, Olathe, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.Mr. Williams died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at his home.He was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Oklahoma, the son of John and Nola Williams.Mr. Williams served as a U.S. Navy SEAL during the pre-Vietnam era. He was a truck driver for AirCo and Deffenbaugh.He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars DeSoto Post No. 6654.He married Mary K. Zaring on Feb. 18, 1962, in Miami, Okla. She died May 22, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Mike, Eudora, and Dan, Shawnee; a brother, Gable McKay, Plattsburg, Mo.; a sister, Billie Cox, Prescott; five grandchildren and his companion, Shirley Kurtz, Olathe.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary in Eudora.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.warrenmcelwain.com">www.warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Williams.
