Don L. Harsh

Services for Don L. Harsh, 79, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Mr. Harsh died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Olathe Medical Center.He was born Aug. 13, 1927, in El Dorado, the son of Abram and Chella Milner Harsh. He graduated from Belleville High School in 1946 and from the dry cleaning school in Okmulgee, Okla. He moved to Ottawa in 1965 and had lived in Baldwin since 2000.Mr. Harsh owned and operated Don’s Royal Cleaners in Ottawa, Wichita and St. Joseph, Mo. He worked for the Kansas Lottery as district manager from 1987 until he retired in 1997.He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa and Masonic Lodge in Ottawa since 1960. He coached baseball in Ottawa and delivered Meals on Wheels.He married Wanda M. McKay Kraus on June 7, 1968, in Paola. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Mark L., Olathe; a stepson, Larry Kraus, Shell Knob, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Betty Kraus, Ottawa; a brother, Dean, St. Joseph; a sister, Wilma Barnes, Gladstone, Ore.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa.
