Margaret B. Raines 1904 - 2006 Eudora
Graveside services for Margaret B. Raines, 102, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wild Horse Cemetery, McLouth. Mrs. Raines died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born July 24, 1904, in McLouth, the daughter of George and Emma Dillon. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Friends University in Wichita and a Master of Science degree from Kansas State University. Mrs. Raines taught at public schools in Neodesha, Ramona, Wichita and McLouth. She was a professor of home economics for 25 years and retired in 1965 as department head at Friends University. She had lived in Eudora since 2002.She was a member of Friends Church in Wichita, the Mayflower Organization and Eastern Star Masonic organization in Wichita.She married E. Lee Raines on June 5, 1948, in Haviland. He died Feb. 1, 2002. She also was preceded in death by a son, Glen Bair, and a daughter, Marjorie Bair.Survivors include two stepdaughters, Lela Cooley, Lawrence, and Nina Stratton, Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
