Mary Elizabeth Haynes 1923 - 2006 Lawrence
Services for Mary Elizabeth Haynes, 82, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Regular Missionary Baptist Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.Ms. Haynes died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.She was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Hollyknowe, Miss., the daughter of Aaron and Fanny Harris Doleman. She graduated from Coleman High School in Greenville, Miss., and the Peters Cortez Business School in Chicago.Ms. Haynes was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Holyknowe; Greater Mount Oliver Missionary Baptist Church and New haven Missionary Baptist Church, both in Chicago; and First Regular Missionary Baptist Church.She married Elijah Haynes on Oct. 14, 1946. They divorced.Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth Haynes, and a brother, Aaron Doleman, Lawrence.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
