Wayne C. Black 1915 - 2006 Tonganoxie
Services for Wayne C. Black, 91, Tonganoxie, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. Mr. Black died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, in Sedalia, Mo.He was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Scribner, Neb., the son of Maurice F. and Adie Belle (Brown) Black. Mr. Black served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a dairy farmer until retiring in 1971.He was a member of Tonganoxie Christian Church.He married Mildred M. Ward on Aug. 9, 1942, in Appanoose. She died Feb. 7, 1997.Survivors include a son, Ron, Washington, Ill.; a daughter, Deana Rader, Sedalia; two brothers, Maurice Jr., Tonganoxie, and Dale, Olathe; a sister, Opal Kerns, Tonganoxie; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from noon until services Thursday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the church.
