Willard “Jack” Cromwell Sr.

Graveside services for Willard “Jack” Cromwell Sr., 96, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Mount Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg.Mr. Cromwell died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Olathe Medical Center.He was born July 25, 1910, in Williamsburg, the son of William Oliver and Annie Morris Cromwell. He grew up in Franklin County and attended school in Williamsburg. He lived in Osage and Franklin counties and moved to Ottawa in the 1960s.Mr. Cromwell was a lifelong farmer and longtime caretaker of Mount Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg.He married Elsie May Arnett on Nov. 7, 1933, in Garnett. She died Oct. 27, 1998.Survivors include four sons, Donald and wife Lois, Weatherford, Texas, Roger D. and wife Patty, Ottawa, and Richard W. and wife Melanie, and Jerry L. and wife Joyce, all of Lawrence; nine grandchildren, Christa Hoesh, Mike, Lorrain, Brandon and Travis Cromwell, Kim Norris, Angie Gettler, Jackie Ellington and Greg Dujmovic; and 11 great-grandchildren.His parents died earlier; a son, William M. Jr. died earlier; two bothers, Leo and Perry, died earlier; and three sisters, Minnie Klime, Myrtle Johnson and Effie Gault, died earlier.Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, where the family will receive them from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorials to Wellsville Manor Nursing Home, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S.
