John Wayne Read 1931 - 2006 Gulf Breeze, Fla.
No services are planned for John Wayne Read, 75, Gulf Breeze, who died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Cremation is planned.He was born March 29, 1931, in Girard, Kan., the son of Bert and Mabel Read. He lived in Lawrence, Kan., from 1968 until he moved to Gulf Breeze in 2004.Mr. Read served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kan., and at VaCoky in Girard for 11 years. In Lawrence, he worked at Kansas University Printing Services.He was a member of First Christian Church in Girard, Jayhawk Camping Club and Good Sam Club for RV drivers.He married Deloris Puffinbarger in 1952. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Charles L., Eudora, and Dennis W., Gulf Breeze; a sister, Doris Paul, Friendwood, Texas; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze is in charge of arrangements.
