Dr. C. Laurence Johnson

Services for Dr. C. Laurence Johnson, 90, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Kan.Dr. Johnson died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Garden Terrace in Overland Park.He was born June 21, 1916, in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Westport High School. He received his Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Medicine and medical degrees at the University of Minnesota.Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for two years in the Pacific Theater. He returned to Kansas City in 1947. He entered into a five-year preceptorship program in urology under Dr. Hjalmar E. Carlson. He was certified by the American Board of Urology and continued in private practice in Kansas City, Mo., until he retired in 1991. He was on the staff of several Kansas City hospitals, mainly Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.He was a member of the Metropolitan Medical Society, Missouri State Medical Assn. and South Central Section of American Urological Assn. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, where he was active in the church choir.Survivors include his wife, Betty, Kansas City, Kan.; a son, Todd and wife Anissa, Smithville, Mo.; two daughters, Judy Stutenroth and husband David, Lawrence, and Elna Paiva and husband Brian, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Nate and Annie Johnson, both of Smithville, Mo.
