Lisa Ann Worthington

Services for Lisa Ann Worthington, 33, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Perry United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.Ms. Worthington died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at her home.She was born March 20, 1973, in Topeka, the daughter of Michael E. and Lori Ann Worthington. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1991 and Washburn University in 2003 with a communications degree.In 1992, Ms. Worthington was involved in a vehicle accident that left her a paraplegic. She then traveled to schools to speak on drinking and driving. She worked for Don’s Steakhouse at Richland Corner, helped her parents operate Worthington’s Hardware Store & Cafe, Perry, and in the claims department for Farmer’s Insurance in Olathe. She was a member of Perry United Methodist Church.Survivors include her parents; her companion, Brian Eskstein, Tonganoxie; a brother, Jake Worthington and his companion, Gayle McMullen, both of Chicago; her paternal grandparents, Eldon and Elaine Worthington, Perry; and her maternal grandfather, “Ole” Reed, Grantville.Her maternal grandmother, Margaret Reed, died earlier.The family suggests memorials to the Lisa Worthington Memorial Scholarship Fund, to be established at Perry-Lecompton High School for handicapped students wishing to attend college, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
