Irene E. Skinner 1907 - 2006 Eureka
Services for Irene E. Skinner, 99, Eureka, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Skinner died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Medicalodge in Eureka.She was born March 11, 1907, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph H. and Frances Currin Brabazon. She graduated from high school in 1926 in Bethel.Mrs. Skinner was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She lived in Lawrence until 2002, when she moved to Eureka.She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence. She was involved with the Kanwaka Literary Club and was a 4-H leader. She married Chester E. Skinner on May 28, 1933, in Bethel. He died Dec. 9, 1964.Survivors include a son, Thomas C. Skinner, Lawrence; a daughter, Mary K. Stauffer, Eureka; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the church or Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka 67045.
