Evelyn Rowena Nichols Miller 1912 - 2006 Lawrence
Evelyn Rowena Nichols Miller, 94, Lawrence, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community. The family will have a private service.She was born Oct. 31, 1912, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., the daughter of Newton James Nichols and Rena Katherine Sarah Nichols. She lived in White Plains, N.Y., and Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Lawrence in 1997.She married I.H. "Hack" Miller. He died earlier.Survivors include two daughters, Judith Miller Jones and husband Stan, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Louise Miller Key and husband James, Camano Island, Wash.; a son, Alan P. Miller and wife Vickie, Baldwin; and three grandchildren, Michael and Kyle Miller and Lana Louise Key.The family suggests memorials to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill or the Evelyn N. Miller Scholarship Fund at Shepherd University, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.
