Bill Warnock 1925 - 2006 Overland Park
Services for Bill Warnock, 81, Overland Park, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Wellsville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Wellsville Cemetery.Mr. Warnock died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at his home. He was born May 31, 1925, in Wellsville, the son of Carl and Merle Sloan Warnock. He grew up in Wellsville and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1943. He lived in Wellsville for 75 years.Mr. Warnock served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for a Naval Air Base for six years and was a rural mail carrier from 1952 until he retired in 1982. He also provided tax services from 1952 to 1990. He was a member of Wellsville American Legion, Wellsville Masonic Lodge and was very active with Wellsville United Methodist Church.He married Alma Rhine on Aug. 4, 1946, in Baldwin. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Carol Baker, Leawood, and Susan Schuman, Overland Park; a sister, Pat Kimbrough, Leavenworth; and four grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville.
