Matilda M. Buckley 1929 - 2006 Oskaloosa
Services for Matilda M. "Tillie" Buckley, 77, Ozawkie, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry. Mrs. Buckley died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at her home.She was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Chelsea, Okla., the daughter of Earl and Verdie Mason Johnson.Mrs. Buckley was a homemaker. She had worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita. She also worked as part-time cook in Bonner Springs and was the secretary for the Lakeshore Improvement District for many years. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Perry.She married Herbert Wayne Buckley on May 8, 1953, in Bentonville, Ark. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Katy Clark, Ozawkie, and Patty Buckley, Basehor; two sisters, Earline Coleman and Connie Musgrave, both of Wichita; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Two sons, Bill Boykin and Tony Buckley, died earlier.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
