Kenneth D. Pringle

Graveside services with military honors for Kenneth D. Pringle, 80, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Pringle died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Baldwin Care Center.He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Lawrence, the son of Wallace K. and Ida Mae Brooks Pringle. He attended Liberty Memorial High School and later attended barber school in Kansas City, Mo.Mr. Pringle served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attained the rank of corporal. He served in Europe and earned Good Conduct and Victory medals. He worked at Stadium Barber Shop and later opened Kenn’s Barber Shop in North Lawrence. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence and was a life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 852 in Lawrence.He married Lois R. McClung on May 26, 1947, in Ottawa. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Kenna Rothwell and husband Don, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Lynne, Becky, Paige and Whitney Rothwell; a great-granddaughter, Gracelynne Mae Rothwell; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorial contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Scholarship Fund or Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com
