Greta Denise Kanzig Chubb 1930 - 2006 Merriam

A celebration of life for Greta Denise Kanzig Chubb, 76, Merriam, will be at a later date at Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village. Private burial will be in rural Deay Cemetery in Douglas County.Mrs. Chubb died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, in Overland Park.She was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Lawrence, the daughter of John and Besse Kanzig. She graduated from the one-room Johnson County Hopewell School and Baldwin City High School. She attended Baker University and St. Luke's School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1951.Mrs. Chubb was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was involved with many organizations including parent teacher associations, the League of Women Voters, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and Baker University. She enjoyed nature, her flowers and fishpond, and backyard wildlife.She married H. Eugene Chubb on Jan. 26, 1952, in Baldwin. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Stephen Chubb, and wife Laurie; two daughters, Katrina Stoway and husband James and Denise Masoner and husband Garold, Rochester, Minn.; a brother, Wayne Kanzig, rural Eudora; a sister, Roxana Housman, rural Eudora; and three grandchildren, Derek and Brian Chubb and Stephanie Stoway.The family suggests memorials to the church or a charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of the Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri, 8837 Roe Ave., Prairie Village 66207.
