Wayne D. Cooper

Services for Wayne D. Cooper, 66, Mascoutah, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.Mr. Cooper died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Ill.He was born Aug. 9, 1940, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Clifford and Lela Newton Cooper. He graduated from Vinland (Kan.) High School in 1958.Mr. Cooper served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired as a master sergeant. He served the U.S. Army Department of Defense for 16 years and retired in 2002. He was a past governor of Mascoutah, where he held various other offices. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Chapter 815 in Mascoutah.He married Thelma Karen Johnson. She died earlier. He married Rose Mary Hass Vavrinek on Nov. 5, 1988, in Mascoutah. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Sandra Femmer and husband Rick, St. Charles, Mo., and Stephanie Duello and husband Casey, Warrenton, Mo.; a stepson, Kevin Vavrinek and wife Cindy, Mascoutah, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Brenda Albrecht and husband David, Newnan, Ga., Karen Monroe, Fayetteville, Ill., and Marilyn Moll Jeff, Mascoutah, Ill.; a twin brother, Warren and wife Jane, St. Ann, Mo.; three sisters, Marian Wiseman, Lawrence, Myrna Clark and husband Jim, Deanville, Texas, and Loretta Lawrenz and husband Jim, Baldwin, Kan.; 15 grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Zachary and Jacob Femmer, Benjamin, Danielle, Dominique and Elijah Duello, Elizabeth Monroe, Tyler and Brittany Moll, Wendy and Melissa LaMar, and Christopher and Jodie Albrecht; and a great-granddaughter, Halie LaMar.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a Moose ritual will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Mooseheart, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
