William Lawrence Kleinsorge

A Catholic Mass for William Lawrence Kleinsorge, 78, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Colby. Burial will be in Beaulah Cemetery.Mr. Kleinsorge died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in Baldwin.He was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Dresden, the son Frank Anthony and Eleanora Kleinsorge. He attended school in Leoville.Mr. Kleinsorge served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. He owned Bill’s West Standard and Bill’s I-70 Standard in Colby from 1959 to 1979 and Nook & Cranny Hallmark in Colby from 1979 to 1990. He was a jewelry representative in Colby and Baldwin from 1990 to 2006.He was a member and past president of Colby Country Club and a member and past board director of the Colby Chamber of Commerce.He married Joyce Keck on Sept. 24, 1950, in Colby. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Pamela Hamill and husband Greg, Lawrence; a son, James; a brother, Martin; two sisters, Amelia Jueneman and Rita Garver; two grandchildren, Mollie and Matthew; and three great-grandchildren, Rylee, Avery and Mallory.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John, George, Leo and Al; and two sisters, Theresa Clardy and Clara Heier.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Harrison Chapel in Colby.The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County or Southeast Kansas Independent Living Inc., sent in care of the chapel, P.O.
