Jeanne Dicker Kuhn

Memorial services for Jeanne Dicker Kuhn, 90, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at University Community of Christ Church. Private inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Kuhn died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Eudora Nursing Center.She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Marysville, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lillian Nelson Metz.Mrs. Kuhn graduated from Lamoni High School and attended Graceland College, both in Lamoni, Iowa. She received her registered nursing degree in 1939 from Research Medical Center School in Kansas City, Mo. She was director-coordinator of nursing services for the Lawrence school district for more than 35 years and retired in 1986.She was a member of Community of Christ Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Sigma Phi, Retired Teachers Association of Douglas County and Lawrence High School, Kansas University Alumni Association, Soroptimist Club and the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She served as a board member for the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center.She married Alfred James Dicker on Dec. 3, 1939, in Kansas City, Mo. He died in April 1981. She married Louie W. Kuhn on April 28, 1989, in Frankfort, S.D. He died in December 1990.Survivors include a daughter, Dinah O’Connor, Lawrence; a son, Alfred James Dicker Jr., Lawrence; a sister, Gayle E. Johnson, Montevideo, Minn.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends after the services at the church. The family suggests memorials to Eudora Nursing Center or Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
