Services for A. LaVerne Kampschroeder, 89, Edgerton, will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Gardner. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.Mr. Kampschroeder died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Royal Terrace in Olathe.He was born May 19, 1916, in Clinton, the son of William Henry and Effie Florence Kennedy Kampschroeder. He lived on his family’s farm in Clinton before relocating to a farm near Edgerton because of the Clinton Lake project.Mr. Kampschroeder worked as a dairy farmer and also raised hogs, cattle and crops. He was a member of Clinton First Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. He spent many hours building an addition to the church. He moved his membership to First Presbyterian Church in Gardner, where he was active in the Mariners group. He was an active member of the Clinton community, where he served on the cemetery board and helped relocate several cemeteries during the construction of Clinton Lake. He served on the Clinton school board. Mr. Kampschroeder served on the board of directors for Dairy Pure Milk Producers Assn., District 1, in Kansas City, Mo., and two terms on the Douglas County Extension Board. He was an active 4-H leader.He married Myrtle V. Kingery on May 22, 1937. She died in 1992.His parents died earlier, and two brothers, William and Walter, died earlier, and three sisters, Emma, Ruby and Thelma, died earlier.Survivors include a son, Larry Dean Kampschroeder, and his wife, Laura, Lenexa; a daughter, Wanda Phyllis Whaley, and her husband, Kennith, Baldwin; seven grandsons; and 14 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner.The family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church of Clinton or Gardner, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
