Milton Doerr Casebier

Oskaloosa – Graveside services with American Legion honors for Milton Doerr Casebier, 76, rural Oskaloosa, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Mr. Casebier died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at his home.He was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Topeka, the son of Joseph and Mary Ruth Doerr Casebier. He graduated in 1948 from Topeka High School and in 1952 from Kansas University, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Casebier served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. He was a farmer and raised hogs from 1954 to 1974. He was a department manager for Montgomery Ward in Lawrence and Topeka from 1974 until he retired in 1986.He was a member of American Legion Post No. 36 in Oskaloosa.He married Lucille Kathryn Steinmeyer on Sept. 16, 1961, in Topeka. She died May 3, 1999.Survivors include a son, Bradley D., Cleveland, Okla.; a daughter, Amy Robbins, Oskaloosa; two sisters, Alaine Kringen, Grand Forks, N.D., and Constance Satterwhite, Enola, Pa.; and four grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the Lucky Spur Saddle Club or the Jefferson County Service Organization, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
