Beulah Nelson Nash

Mass of Christian Burial for Beulah Nelson Nash, 92, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.Mrs. Nash died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Green, the daughter of Amel J. and Rosa Hofmann Nelson. She attended Kansas University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City and earned an associate’s degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College.Mrs. Nash taught for three years near Green and worked for two years at the Kansas University Medical Center’s library and worked as executive secretary for the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts from 1968 to 1970. In 1985, she moved to Lawrence, where she was a member of the Round Table Literary Club.She married Francis J. Nash on June 7, 1937. He died in 1975.Survivors include two daughters, Janet Daniels, Dallas, and Lida Osbern, Lawrence; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Two daughters, Mary Rose Kancel and Anita Eileen Nash, died earlier.Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph A. Butler and Son Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan., where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m.The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the National Kidney Foundation, sent in care of the funeral home.
