Connie R. Martinez 1934 - 2006 Enterprise
Abilene - Services for Connie R. Martinez, 71, Enterprise, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Danner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.Mrs. Martinez died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Enterprise Estates Nursing Home.She was born June 5, 1934, in Lyons, the daughter of Cosme Hernandez and Maria Correa Rangel. She grew up and attended school in the Garden City and Wichita areas.Mrs. Martinez worked as a nurse's aid and a maid at several motels.Survivors include two sons, Paul Martinez, Enterprise, and Lewis Martinez, Garden City; four daughters, Mary Martinez and Carla Ramirez, both of Lawrence, Paula Steele, Enterprise, and Jacqueline Unruh, Deerfield; a brother, Richard Rangel, Garden City; two sisters, Isabel Martinez, Liberal, and Julia Garcia, Wichita; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends and a parish rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses' Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
