Services for Bill Lee Davison, 81, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Davison died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.He was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Lawrence, the son of Leslie and Beatrice Mills Davison. He attended Lawrence public schools and was a lifelong Lawrence resident.Mr. Davison served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 1365th Military Police Co., Aviation, from 1943 to 1946. He served in China, Burma and India. He worked for Sander's Motor Co. and the Lawrence Fire Department. He worked for Cooperative Farmers Chemical Assn. for 26 years and retired on May 1, 1984. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Alford-Clarke Post 852, Veterans of Foreign Wars, China Burma India and the American Association of Retired Persons.He married Lorene Mae Sharp on Sept. 3, 1950, in Lawrence. She survives, of Lawrence.Other survivors include two daughters, Diana Dexter, Overland Park, Debra Jennings, Lawrence; a brother, Elvin E., Lawrence; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.The family suggests memorials to the church or a charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent to email@example.com, subject: Davison.
