William Eugene Hicks 1925 - 2006 Kansas City, Kan.
Graveside services for William Eugene Hicks, 80, Tonganoxie, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.Mr. Hicks died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Fort Leavenworth, the son of Harry and Florence Leighty Ropp Hicks.Mr. Hicks worked as an electrician at Kansas University. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Lawrence.He married Helen Johnson-Stoll. She died in 2000.Survivors include a son, Harry, Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Suzan Henry, Carterville, Mo., and Diane and Roxanne Hicks, both of Napa, Calif.; three stepsons, David and Steve Stoll, both of Topeka, and Dan Stoll, Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Debby Smoots, McLouth; a brother, Robert, Lake Station, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.The family suggests memorials to the American Heart or Diabetes Foundation, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.
