Muriel Austin Seyler 1912 - 2006
Services for Muriel Austin Seyler, 94, Versailles, Mo., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Mrs. Seyler died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.She was born March 19, 1912, in Franklin, Neb., the daughter of Earl and Blanche Tecker Austin. She graduated cum laude from Doane College in Crete, Neb.Mrs. Seyler was a teacher in Nebraska for nine years. She later lived in Topeka, Oklahoma City and Lawrence, where she was an office manager at Gardenland. She moved in 2005 to Versailles.She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She served as a docent at the Watkins Museum of History in Lawrence and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.She married Wes L. Seyler on Aug. 15, 1943, in Chicago. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Jackson, Versailles; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church in Lawrence, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stover, Mo., or Doane College in Crete, sent in care of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, 210 E. Jasper St., Versailles, MO 65084.
