Dallas Dale Pittenger 1925 - 2006 Topeka
Services for Dallas Dale Pittenger, 80, Topeka, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka.Mr. Pittenger died Friday, March 17, 2006, in Topeka.He was born June 2, 1925, in Netawaka, the son of Ray and Nellie Gustafson Pittenger. He graduated from Sabetha High School. He received a degree in physical education in 1949 from Kansas University, where he served as student manager of the 1948 football team.Mr. Pittenger served in the U.S. Navy. He coached football in Blue Rapids and Coldwater. He joined the FBI as an agent in Washington, D.C., and New York. He later worked at Capitol Federal Savings for more than 30 years and retired as first vice president.He was active in K-Club, KU Alumni Association, Shriners and other community organizations.Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; two sons, Knute, Baldwin, and Sandy, Raleigh, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Diane Martin, Pasadena, Calif., and Connie Nolte, Lenexa; a brother, Ron, San Antonio, Texas; and eight grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to KU's Williams Educational Fund, P.O.
