Eula Kate Evarts 1917 - 2006
Funeral services for Eula Kate Evarts, 88, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be at a later date.Ms. Evarts died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab Center.She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Dearborn, Mo., the daughter of Calep and Verna Lee Hay Pendygrast.Ms. Evarts was a homemaker and a home health care aide in Mitchell, Osborne and Douglas counties.Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Lee Finney, Beloit, Joyce Mitchell, Lawrence, and Alice Marie Holinde, Newton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Virgil, died earlier.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service.The family suggests memorials to the Baldwin Care Center or Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Evarts.
