Robert Lee Myers

Funeral services for Robert Lee Myers, 71, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin.Mr. Myers died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at his home.He was born May 2, 1935, in Richmond, Mo., the son of Jewell L. and Iva I. Johnson Myers. He grew up in Leeton, Mo., graduating from Leeton High School in 1953 and then from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo.He worked as a milkman in Independence, Mo., before working for the Taylor Oil Co. in Kansas City, Mo., as a bookkeeper and accountant. He later worked for Hydro-Tool Inc. and Harry Turner & Associates in Topeka. He owned and operated Myers Accounting and Tax Service in Baldwin and Topeka before serving as an auditor for the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office.He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Independence, Mo., and Rolling Hills Christian Church in Topeka, where he served as choir director and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Topeka and the Moose Lodge in Topeka, served as treasurer for the Baldwin City Community Theater, and served on the Oakwood Cemetery Board. He also worked with the Midland Railway in Baldwin.He married Judy M. Stohs on July 13, 1989, in Topeka. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Robert L. “Bobby” II, Lawton, Okla., and Bret, Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Beverly Prizzi, Independence, Mo.; a stepson, Kevin Jackson, Lawrence; a brother, Mike, Leeton, Mo.; four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.The family suggests contributions to Baldwin City Community Theater, Midland Railway or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
