Mae Amanda Cook

Services for Mae Amanda Cook, 94, Garnett, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel in Garnett. Burial will follow in Garnett Cemetery.Mrs. Cook died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Facility.She was born Oct. 30, 1911, in Neodesha, the daughter of Charley Thomas and Nellie Mae Martin Cass. She lived in Lawrence from 1999 to 2003 and was a longtime resident of the Garnett area.Mrs. Cook worked as a nurses aid for more than 30 years. She was a longtime member of the JJJ Card Club of Garnett.She married George Franklin Croan on Sept. 26, 1933, in Iola. He died May 28, 1958. She married Ralph Earnest Cook on May 8, 1963, in Miami, Okla. He died Dec. 18, 1986.Two infant children died a grandson and a great-grandson also died earlier.Survivors include a son, George Croan, Garnett; two daughters, Beverly King, Humboldt, and Nellane Stussie, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Facility or Mid-land Hospice, sent in care of the chapel, P.O.
