Marjorie Lucille Barber 1916 - 2006 Emporia
Funeral services for Marjorie Lucille Barber, 90, Americus, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Burial will be in Eskridge Cemetery.Mrs. Barber died Friday, June 16, 2006, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.She was born April 10, 1916, in Eskridge, the daughter of William and Anna Maude Boyles Bell.Mrs. Barber was a cook at Flint Hills Manor in Emporia for 25 years and was a member of Ladies Aid in Chalk.She married Murrel Barber on Feb. 3, 1934, in Eskridge. He died Jan. 27, 1978.Survivors include three sons, Bill Barber, Herington, Gary Barber, White City, and Leland Barber, Americus; two daughters, Shirley Zerbe, Council Grove, and Sharon Pape, Tonganoxie; a brother, Virgil Bell, McFarland; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.Two grandchildren died earlier.The family suggests memorials to Emporia Friends of the Zoo or the American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, 605 State St., Emporia 66801.
