Services for Irvin A. Pauls, 80, Buhler, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bethel Mennonite Church in Inman with pastors Alden Dick and Paul Isaak officiating. Burial will be in Buhler Municipal Cemetery.Mr. Pauls died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Inman.He was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Reno County near Buhler, the son of A.J. and Marguerite Regehr Pauls. He was a lifetime resident of the Buhler area.Mr. Pauls served in the Civilian Public Service Corp. in Colorado Springs, Colo., during World War II. He worked as a hardware salesman for Colladay Hardware Co. for 36 years and retired in 1990. He worked for the City of Buhler and Elliott Mortuary after he retired. He was a member of Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus and Salt Miners Barbershop Chorus. He volunteered for the Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Disaster Service and House Against Hunger Program.He married Louise Schroeder on March 16, 1947, in Adams, Okla. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two daughters, Gaylene Van Horn, Lenexa, and Shirley Grubbs and husband Kim, Lawrence; a sister, Tina Epp, Inman; a brother-in-law, Gary Veendorp and wife Lala, Wichita; three grandchildren, Anna Unruh and Thomas and Jacob Grubbs; and a great-granddaughter, Holly Unruh.A brother, Art Pauls, died earlier, and three sisters, Elizabeth Pauls and Anna Pauls and Lena Veendorp, died earlier.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to the Mennonite Central Committee, sent in care of the mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson 67501.Online condolences may be sent at www.elliottmortuary.com.
