Bryce H. Wagner 1943 - 2006 Winchester
Services for Bryce H. Wagner, 62, Winchester, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Winchester United Methodist Church. Graveside service with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.Col. Wagner died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., after a long illness.He was born Oct. 10, 1943, at Lenoir, N.C., the son of Leonard L. and Belva Mae Blackburn Wagner. He received his master's degree at Central Michigan University in 1984 and was also a War College graduate.Col. Wagner served in the U.S. Army for 26 years before he retired.He married Helen Doris Olsan on June 10, 1961, in Red Oak, Iowa. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include four sons, Bryan, Alexandria, Va., William, Shawnee, Bryce Jr., Turney, Mo., and Kevin, Bushton; a daughter, Kristina Wagner, of the home; a brother, Denver B., Clearwarter, Fla.; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the Lyme Disease Association of Greater Kansas City, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
