Funeral services for Celia “Mildred” Yoder, 86, Manhattan, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel in Manhattan. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.Mrs. Yoder died Friday, June 2, 2006, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community in Lawrence.She was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Webster, the daughter of Charles O’Dell and Blanche Elvira Grover Avery.Mrs. Yoder was a cook at Kansas State University and later was a custodian at a fraternity. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.She married Roy C. Yoder on March 26, 1938, in Lawrence. He died Jan. 26, 1999.Survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann Peake, Jacksonville, Fla., and Christine Labuda, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a brother, Irven Avey, Topeka; two sisters, Lila Patton, Lawrence, and Vona Axline, Edmond, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.Friends may call in the afternoon on June 12 and until service time June 13 at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. or the Terry C.
