Harold E. Haufler 1928 - 2006 Tonganoxie
Funeral services for Harold E. Haufler, 78, Tonganoxie, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Quisenberry Chapel in Tonganoxie. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Cemetery in Vassar.Mr. Haufler died Friday, July 28, 2006, at his home.He was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Michigan Valley, the son of Elmer and Mathilda Renken Haufler.Mr. Haufler was a U.S. Army veteran, worked as a service technician for Montgomery Ward in Kansas City, Kan., for 34 years and was a volunteer firefighter for Delaware Township in Wyandotte County. He was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church in Bonner Springs.He married Barbara Jo Wischropp on Oct. 3, 1954, in Vassar. She died July 2, 2006.Survivors include a son, Steve, Tonganoxie; two daughters, Jolinda Young, Orlando, Fla., and Julie Hickey, San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Delmer, Burlingame, and Theron, Montfort, Wis.; and six grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Kansas City Hospice, sent in care of the Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.
