Erma G. Hurrelbrink Hornberger

Services for Erma G. Hurrelbrink Hornberger, 87, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s United Church of Christ north of Worden. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.Mrs. Hornberger died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in Franklin County, the daughter of Fred J. and Edna Morasch Hurrelbrink. She grew up and attended school in Franklin County. Mrs. Hornberger was a homemaker. She also had been a cook for Baker University and worked at Marion Springs Elementary School.She was an active, lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, gardening and serving as a leader for the Worden Workers 4-H Club for many years.She married Charles F. Hornberger on Sept. 1, 1944, at St. John’s United Church of Christ. They shared more than 52 years of marriage. He died Oct. 29, 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Janet R. Breithaupt and husband Douglas, Lawrence; two sons, Victor D. Hornberger, Baldwin, and Charles “Chip” Hornberger Jr. and wife Jan, Baldwin; a son-in-law, Myron Runft, Belleville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judith A. Runft; and two sisters, Grace and Dorothy Stoneking.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
