Dolly Deroux-Dauphin

Services for Dolly Deroux-Dauphin, 83, Lawrence, will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Community Bible Church.Mrs. Deroux-Dauphin died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.She was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Black Oak, Ind., the daughter of Victor J. and Anna Drygalski Sable. She lived in Mobile, Ala., for 30 years and in Punta Gorda, Fla., for 30 years before she moved to Lawrence a year ago.Mrs. Deroux-Dauphin was an artist and actress. She was involved with community theater for 25 years, including the Mobile Theater Guild and the Joe Jefferson Players, and won several best actress awards. She was a member of the Order of Polka Dots and attended Community Bible Church. She was married to Victor H. Deroux-Dauphin for 60 years. He died in 2002.Survivors include two sons, Claude Victor Deroux-Dauphin, Lake Wales, Fla., and Grandin H. Deroux-Dauphin, Mobile; two daughters, Michele D. Lovette, Lawrence, and Melisse M. Hopping, Winston-Salem, N.C.; a brother, Eugene Sable, Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Rosemary Cooper, Portage, Ind.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112.
