Allen D. King

Nixa, Mo. – Services for Allen D. “Bill” King, 74, Nixa, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at James River Assembly of God, Clark Chapel, in Ozark. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence, Kan.Mr. King died Monday, July 10, 2006, at CoxHealth Hospital in Springfield.He was born June 29, 1932, in Frazee, Minn., the son of LeRoy and Lillian King. He moved to Highlandville in 1996 and to Nixa in 2002.Mr. King served in the U.S. Army. He began an appliance business in Lawrence. He later owned an appliance business and several Laundromats. He had worked at Silver Dollar City for the last several years.He married Vivian Koerner on Sept. 12, 1952. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Diane McGehee, Carlinville, Ill.; three brothers, Earl, Minnesota, John, South Carolina, and Leslie, Alabama; four sisters, Joyce Cole and June Ellgen, both of Colorado, Shirley Nelson, Minnesota, and Virginia Bitterman, Montana; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.A son, Richard, died earlier.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa.
