Verne Harrison Kellogg 1954 - 2006 Colwich
Graveside services for Verne Harrison Kellogg, 51, Sedgwick County, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in pioneer Eldridge Cemetery in Colwich. His request was to be buried beside his great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents.Mr. Kellogg died Sunday, July 8, 2006, at his home following a long illness.He was born Sept. 23, 1954, the son of Robert and Mary Martha Carson Kellogg. He was a fifth-generation resident of Sedgwick County.Mr. Kellogg was a writer, artist, sculptor, sailor, angler and woodworker.Survivors include his wife, Paula McDonald Kellogg, of the home; a son, Sam, Cheney; two daughters, Anna Baldwin, Chapel Hill, N.C., and Gretchen Cacek, Wichita; six sisters, Carrie McDonald and Nancy Harper, both of Lawrence, Paula Kellogg, Perry, Barbara Gannon, Gloucester, Mass., Virginia Kellogg, Towanda, Pa., and Amy Kellogg, Wichita; two brothers, Thomas, Lawrence, and Jack, Wichita; and two grandsons, Conner and Logan.The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita 67202, or the Peace and Social Justice Center of South Central Kansas, 1407 N. Topeka, Wichita 67214.
