Bowen, 84, Oskaloosa, will be at a later date.Mrs. Bowen died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at her home.She was born Nov. 1, 1921, in New Castle, Ind., the daughter of Claude and Anna Duval Hopper Davis. She graduated from New Castle High School.Mrs. Bowen served in the Women’s U.S. Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II. She was an artist and a homemaker. She was a member of the Lawrence Art Guild and Downtown Tuesday Painters.She married Edwin Bowen in Indianapolis. He died earlier.Survivors include three sons, Gregory Bowen, Indianapolis, and Douglas and Lawrence Bowen, both of Laurinburg, N.C.; a daughter, Leann Schneider, Oskaloosa; and two brothers, James Davis, Colorado, and John Davis, Massachusetts.The family suggests memorials to the Mary Bowen Memorial Fund, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O.
