Terry C. “Spud” Mangum

Services for Terry C. “Spud” Mangum, 59, Lawrence, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Sugar City, Idaho.Mr. Mangum died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Leavenworth.He was born September 8, 1946, in Shelley, Idaho, the son of Clarence and Myrtle Mangum. He graduated from Shelley High School in 1964 and moved to Lawrence in 1968.Mr. Mangum served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and later the U.S. Air Force and also worked for Kansas Power and Light, which became Westar Energy, for 30 years at the Lawrence warehouse.He married Connie Hendrix on May 7, 1966. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Brandy Wittbrod, and husband, Stephen, Lawrence; a grandson, Jordan; and a sister, Joy Brown, Polson, Mont. His parents and three sisters, Myrtle, Lola and Genevieve, died earlier.The family suggests memorials to the Terry Mangum Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
