Ottawa – Services for Melissa Garrett, 25, Richmond, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Ottawa.Mrs. Garrett died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, as a result of injuries suffered in a vehicle accident near Osawatomie.She was born June 2, 1980, in Ottawa, the daughter of Doug and Janet Pate Weppler. She attended Lawrence and Ottawa high schools and graduated in 1998. She moved to Richmond in 1999.Mrs. Garrett worked as a mental health technician at Osawatomie State Hospital for the past year. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Ottawa. She married Jesse Garrett on Nov. 19, 1999, in Centropolis. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Zeke Garrett and Clayton Garrett, both of the home; her father, Doug Weppler, Springfield, Mo.; her mother and stepfather, Janet and Jeff Clauser, Ottawa; a brother, Zachary Jackson, Lawrence; a sister, Kelsey Jean Jackson, Ottawa; a grandfather, Bill Gremminger, Ottawa; and a grandmother, Ella Weppler, Arizona.Friends may call today and until the service hour Wednesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to the Garrett Children Education Fund, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S.
