Jean Margaret DeForest 1914 - 2006 Lawrence
Graveside services for Jean Margaret DeForest, 91, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery. Miss DeForest died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Presbyterian Manor.She was born May 23, 1914, in Lawrence, the daughter of Lesley Hyde and Martha Alice Gardner DeForest. She received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Kansas University in 1936.Miss DeForest worked as an office manager for Dr. Boyden and Dr. Ronald Weiner. She also worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co., Hercules Inc. and the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department.She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Gold Medal Club.Survivors include two sisters, Luella Gary, Prairie Village, and Alice Davis, Libertyville, Ill.The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: DeForest.
